I love the message throughout this story; the one who helps save the day is the one nobody wanted to help!  I think this message is important because anyone can help to save the day even the ones that no one believes in.  I also really like this book because it is different than your typical fairytale, where the prince saves the girl.  There is a focus on feminism and strong female characters, which I really like.  It is a fast read with soft, pastel color illustrations that make this book very feminine, but despite the colors and feminism, it is a good read at any age level.

Parachute- Blog

I am so glad I picked this book to read while looking through blogs.  The blog I read gave a really good review so I was really interested to read this book.  As I was reading this book, I really enjoyed how this book was told through the perspective of Toby, the main character.  Toby carries a parachute with him wherever he goes for safety purposes, however eventually Toby realizes that he needs to face his fears.  I feel like facing your feels is a lesson that can be learned at any age, and I know for me personally there are some fears I still need to face. This book is a good lesson for any age level even though it is directed for young children.  I really enjoyed this book and I am glad I read it.

Surf's Up- Human Librarian

I love this book!  I think it’s is so humorous that the two main character’s names are dude and bro.   It reminds me of being at the beach with my friends and calling each other by our nicknames.  I really like that even though this book takes place at a beach, this book’s main focus is to show that reading can be fun and that sometimes it is important to take time to read a good book.  For children reading can be difficult, and I know for myself the last thing I want to be doing is reading a long book; however, after I read a good book I am glad that I did!  I feel like this is a good lesson to instill in children and I think that the author has a creative way of doing it!
